Setenta is a Cuban salsa move danced all over the world and it’s basic structure is built upon to create more complex patterns. This video lesson covers the basic setenta steps all beginner dancers should learn. Nick and Serena initiate the move with a simple guapea followed by an outside turn but in some parts of the world the move begins with a Vacila. Versailles Restaurant, The World’s Most Famous Cuban Restaurant, has been serving tasty Cuban cuisine and culture to the South Florida community and tourists from around the world for four decades. Soon after it opened its doors in 1971, Versailles quickly became the gathering place and unofficial town square for Miami’s Cuban exiles. Today, it remains the unrelenting gauge of the community’s pulse. Not surprisingly, Versailles is typically the first place politicians visit locally to garner support from the Cuban exile community, and the restaurant is equally a favorite among the media for gathering commentary and footage of the community’s take on social and political issues. It is not uncommon to see local, national and international media set up camp in Versailles’ parking lot, where they’re sure to get a flood of local viewpoints.
With Or Without Fidel is a groundbreaking documentary that features Cuba’s leading politicians, intellectuals and dissidents, who debate the future direction of the island’s 48 year-old revolution.
How do Cubans feel about their own identity and freedom of speech? For the first time, the people of Cuba question the values that western democracy holds sacred and the price Cubans have paid for their independence.
With Or Without Fidel is an extremely rare glimpse into the heart of Cuban society. While the BBC, CNN and other correspondents were expelled from the country, Rice N Peas Films were given unprecedented access to produce an honest portrayal of the island.
Filmed during the most precarious period in Cuba’s history, With or Without Fidel reveals the aspirations and vulnerabilities of a country on the brink of change.

The latest Key2Cuba video stars the new Louis Armstrong of Cuban Timba – Alexander Abreu & Havana de Primera, dance guru Maykel Fonts, Osvady, the Key2Cuba dancers and Ebony. This video is dedicated to, and in memory of the writer, Simon Gavron and directed by Kerry Ribchester. The video tells the story of two Cuban boys who grow up in the same barrio fighting and enacting an’Eye for and eye, tooth for a tooth ‘ mentality with each other until Alexander Abreu shares with them his philosophy. Alexander wrote the song to inspire Cuban people in difficult times, not to respond with an ‘eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’, but to rise above injustice with elegance.
The exquisite choreography by Fonts blends the dances of the Cuban Gods – the Orishas, with Rumba, Son, Salsa and hip-hop to create a modern day Cuban Salsa fusion. See hints of Usher, Michael Jackson meets West Side story in Havana. It’s for the boys with the street fighting, but really it’s for the girls with all the bare chests and pulsating muscles! The last video directed by Ribchester — Me Mantengo – with Los Van Van, is nominated to win the Lukas award in London. She is the director of top Salsa holiday company Key2Cuba and is passionate about teaching Cuban dance from the core and embodying all the flavours of the Cuban dances into your Salsa. If you would like train with her and the dancers in the video, enjoy a holiday of a lifetime, and be a part of the magic, see her on Facebook Kerry Ribchester, or the group Key2Cuba Ltd or call/ text 00 44 (0) 7767 313 168.
