Since 1970, when I purchased my first Nikon F camera I have dreamed of traveling to Cuba and photographing the people and the Island before the Castro Brothers passed away. Cuba has been frozen in time for over 50 years due to the American embargo and the communist revolution.
Given that Cuba has been in a "time warp" for so many years, I wanted to capture it before the next revolution, which hopefully will be peaceful and productive for it’s people.
In 2013, a group of very experienced photographers traveled for several weeks to capture a slice of that special place. No one had any idea that the United States and Cuba would recognize each other and establish diplomatic relations.
In 2015, "Republica de Cuba" was self-published by Innereye Press. The book is dedicated to the Cuban people for welcoming us into their homes and country.

This woman was one of the organizers of a small demonstration protesting the imprisonment of what they called the "Cuban 5", five men who were allegedly spying on U.S. government facilities. The Cuban government said that the men were instead spying on the Cuban expat population in Florida. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4781287.stm
