Conan O’Brien and his late-night show are no stranger to road trips, but this time it looks like he’s pulled off a major one: filming in Cuba.
O’Brien spent the past weekend with his crew filming the March 4 episode of his TBS show in Havana, Cuba. It marks the first time a U.S. late-night show has filmed in the country since the embargo began in 1962.
A news release from the show says the host spent “multiple days taking in the sights, sounds and culture of the country. The trip gives the ‘Conan’ audience a rare glimpse into the daily life of a country not often seen by American viewers.”
Whether it’s John Adams being called a hermaphrodite or Marco Rubio talking about Trump’s junk, there’s a rich history of political trash talk.

Disagreements seem to remain between the United States and Cuba, despite growing signs of rapprochement.
US Secretary of State John Kerry and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez have clashed over human rights issues after a landmark ceremony which saw the US flag raised over the American Embassy in Havana. After the ceremony, Kerry said that Cubans deserve genuine democracy and urged Havana to fulfill its human rights obligations. The remarks prompted Rodriguez to take a jab at Kerry. He criticized the US rights record highlighting racial inequality and police brutality in America. Rodriguez also insisted that the US must relinquish the naval base in Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay, but Kerry said THAT’s not possible. The two neighbors have been on a reconciliation path. Cuba reopened its embassy in Washington last month. But there are still many issues that are causing tensions.
